Rotary Dryers

Edanbrook offers two types of dryers based on the application, i.e. Multistage or Single stage. We study the materials with a specific humidity or granularity in detail before designing the dryers for use in grinding ores, building materials, metallurgy, and the chemical industry. Depending on the moisture content, Edanbrook offers rotary dryers for various applications, such as slag rotary dryers and building material rotary dryers.

    Features
  • -Our improved flight design prevents large clusters of material from falling during flight, resulting in better heat transfer.

  • -Handle high feed moisture levels

  • -Volumetric filling of approximately 10-15% ensures greater efficiency.

  • -Co-current and counter-current flow options are available depending on the material to be processed.

WORKING OF DRYER

The Rotary Dryer is a continuously operated direct contact dryer consisting of a slowly rotating cylindrical shell that is usually inclined horizontally by a few degrees. The wet material is dried using hot gases generated in an external furnace or from any available source. Wet feed is introduced into the dryer's upper end, and the feed moves through it due to rotation, head effect, and the slope of the shell, with dried product drawn at the lower back. The flow of gas through the cylinder is primarily determined by the properties of the processed material, which can be Co-Current or Counter-Current.

SELECTION OF DRYER

The choice of the best type of dryer to use for a particular application is generally dictated by the following factors:

  • The nature of the product, both physical and chemical;
  • The value of the product;
  • The scale of production;
  • The available fuel
  • The product quality consideration;
  • The nature of the solid, (flammability, dust explosion hazard, toxicity).
